Quick Release: Updated Bike Tour Calendar Here!
2009 BIKE VACATIONS ARE HERE!

Our 2008 cycling season is in full swing with the remaining fall tours sold-out. Sorry to those spontaneous travelers who we've had to turn away. It's never too early to start planning.

We're in the process of posting our 2009 calendar now. You'll see we've added more dates for our signature mountain madness tours. These tours are reserved only for people who really like pain (we spend hours in the saddle spinning up stunning cateogry cols!).

We recommend easing your way into your spring cycling on our favorite softer stuff: Provence & Mont Ventoux, Tuscany and the Dordogne river valley.

You're invited to see our detailed daily itineraries, riding statistics, profiles and destinations on your left. Call (888-792-7066) or email our trip consultants NOW to reserve your spot for a 2009 vacation.

We specialize in small group bike adventures for cyclists who like to spin up category climbs and revel in dazzling descents through the most scenic mountain ranges in the world: the Alps and Dolomites, the French Pyrenees and the Himalayas.

Why We are Different

When it comes to your bike vacation, one size does not fit all. At Ride Strong Bike Tours we've created and perfected a new breed of international bike vacations designed specifically for endurance cyclists and triathletes. Although best known for our vacations that accompany the mountain stages of the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia, our signature series of climbing based cycling vacations are also hugely popular for those cyclists and triathletes hungry for endless endorphin highs. Set in Europe's climbing gems, our tours deliver real riding, local luxury and lifetime vacations. We offer fixed departure dates, group discounted rates and specialize in custom bicycling vacations for your private peloton or group of friends. Scheduled tours start at $2,790 USDs/person for 8 days of pure adrenaline.

NEW Spring Training 2009! Cycling the Alps-Maritimes

All the way down in the south east of France along the Mediterranean and high in the Maritimes Alps we start our spring training in our Speedplays and swimsuits! The new 'shangri-la' of cycling vacations, the Maritime Alps ride features craggy cliffs, quiet spiralling roads, medieval villages and the highest paved pass in Europe. But what makes this tour really great, is the sacred 7 cols of the Ubaye Valley. Optional run-bikes, hikes-bike or simply relaxing by the pool make this tour a favorite for triathletes and multisporters. Sign-Up Us Up Now

Aint No Mountain Hard Enough?

Jumpstart Spring Bicycling Provence and Mont Ventoux!

There’s only one mountain with more might than L’Alpe d’Huez – that’s Mont Ventoux! Add a mixture of rock tunnels, gorges and undulating hills, a dash of lavender-lined roads to flush the lactic acid, a heaping spoonful of sun and some of the freshest food in southern France and you have one of our favorite bike vacations in all of France. Morning rave runs are optional; low gears are not! See the day-to-day Provence & Mont Ventoux Itinerary!

Cycling Meccas – Make the Pilgrimage this Spring or Fall!

There are endless miles of road to ride but only two true bicycling meccas in this world: the French Alps & L’Alpe d’ Huez and the Central Pyrenees. Cyclists the world over make the pilgrimage for the pedaling challenges and scenery presented by the legendary mountain passes. See for yourself why nothing compares to our bicycling tours in the French Alps & L’ Alpe d’ Huez, on a quiet sun-drenched day in June or cycling the Central Pyrenees, a paradise of perfect climbs and mind-blowing descents. Short on time, big on challenges? Ride the Raid Pyrenees Brevet: 18 cols, 710 km within the 100 hour time limit!

Julie Gildred and Ganesh Go to India for Challenged Athletes Foundation

Every year we like to take our own unsupported bicycle adventure trip; scouting out new routes, researching foreign lands and feeding our cycling souls. This 'off season', our totally unsupported, spontaneous challenge is a 2100 km circumnavigation of India's most southern tip. Wheels are up on January 21 and we return sometime in March. If you'd like to learm more about the ride or follow our blogs, you can find more details at www.bikeridetours.com or sign-up for Julie's adventure blog at http://juliegildred.bikeridetours.com.
